The Complicated Process of Adding Diversity to the College Syllabus by Emily Deruy

Choosing the first article for the “Thought of the Day” was not easy! But this article is one of the main reasons we started Alliance.

This article sheds light on the need for curriculum based diversity training, but it is important to acknowledge diversity is not only race and ethnicity, it is upbringings, academic backgrounds, environments, etc all the things that contribute to shaping our perspectives and make us unique. At Alliance,  we strive to break down the fear associated with ‘teaching’ diversity by providing workshops on key aspects involving leadership skills in relation to the global workforce. Teaching these concepts at all levels now will help insure future professionals are well-equipped.
